04.08.2026 — IN MÜNTSCHEMIER, ONE IMAGE IS PRINTED TWICE, ADDITIVE ON BLACK AND SUBTRACTIVE ON WHITE, SIDE BY SIDE FOR THE FIRST TIME.

In the book Alchemy in Print, Lorenz Boegli shows additive and subtractive colour mixing side by side. He chose an image that works equally well in both processes. First he screen-prints it in red, green and blue on black paper. Neutral greys and browns serve as a control. Everything builds towards full luminosity, with natural light flowing into the centre of the image. The same image then appears in offset on white paper, in standard cyan, magenta and yellow. Turning the page lets the reader compare the two directly. Boegli says nothing like it has existed before, in a book or anywhere else.
