Over the alps

25.01.2026 — On the Gotthard Pass, Lorenz Boegli holds the maquette of Alchemy in Print while crossing the Alps on his way to Italy.

Snow on the Gotthard. A brief stop on the pass. The journey begins here.

Long before Alchemy in Print, printing itself travelled south — crossing the Alps, transforming along the way. What began as a technical invention in the north was refined in Italy, where aesthetics, sensitivity, and material awareness gave it new depth. Following this path, Alchemy in Print is printed in offset and letterpress in Italy, then returns north to Müntschemier, where the screen prints come to life in the studio.

This moment on the Gotthard marks the starting point of the documentation — a space between departure and return, between movement and making.
